Winter Weather Strikes Again

A round of winter weather caused problems on the roads overnight and this morning.   Several inches of snow fell around the region leading to a level one snow emergencies in Hardin, Hancock and Wyandot Counties. ODOT Cuts Council on Aging Funding

ODOT is cutting the budget for operating expenses and transportation for the Hardin County Council on Aging.   Executive Director Bette Bibler, told the Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting that she was notified in January that ODOT was cutting her operating expenses by 60% and the transportation by 40%. A $160,000 loss. Two Teens Injured in Wyandot County Crash

Two people were injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 18 year old Katelyn Coppler, of Upper Sandusky, lost control of her car while driving west on Township Highway 44.   The vehicle went off the right side of the road where it struck a power pole and came to rest in a field.   Heavy damage occurred to the vehicle.   Coppler […]

Man Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance Investigation

A 22 year old Kenton man was arrested after Kenton police were called to a domestic disturbance on Tuesday.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to an apartment at 655 East Street to investigate the incident.   A door was kicked in, and a woman at the residence suffered apartment minor injuries as a result of the incident.   Vinson Hastings was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

Crash Occurs in Kenton Intersection Tuesday

A crash occurred late Tuesday morning in the intersection of Detroit and Carrol Streets in Kenton.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 41 year old Brandee Holland was driving west on Carrol, and 41 year old Mary Drumm was travelling north on Detroit, and both cars travelled into the intersection where they collided.   Both drivers claimed to have the green light, and no citations were issued since the officer could not determine who was at […]

Tree Town Festival Committee Awarding Two Scholarships

The Tree Town Festival Committee is sponsoring two high school students each with a $250 scholarship.   Applicants must be a 2019 Riverdale senior or 2019 senior with a 45843 zip code.   Applications are available at villageofforest.com or at the Riverdale High School.   They must be turned in by February 22.   The winners will be announced in May.

American Legion Celebrating 100th Birthday

This morning, Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Michael Swope was sworn in by Interim Mayor R. Ronald Monday to the position of Lieutenant.
