Box Truck Fire Near Downtown Kenton

A box truck caught fire near downtown Kenton Thursday at around noon. According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, welding equipment in the cargo area caught fire. Ada Woman Injured in Wednesday Morning Crash

A Wednesday morning accident in Allen County injured an Ada woman.   WFIN Radio reported that 44 year old Sheldy Morris was driving east on State Route 81, when her car was struck by a vehicle driven by 19 year old Hadden Smith, of Findlay, who failed to yield the right of way when he drove from Fetter Road.   Morris was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.   Smith was cited for failure to yield from […]

Hancock County Crash Blamed on Slippery Roads

A vehicle was heavily damaged in a crash that occurred Wednesday morning in Hancock County.   According to the report from the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 49 year old Marla Leonard, of Findlay, lost control of her vehicle while travelling north on I-75.   The car went off the right side of the road where it struck a guardrail and ended up in the ditch.   Leonard was not injured.   She was cited for a reasonable […]

Woman Escaped Injury in Allen County Crash

A Cincinnati woman escaped injury in a one vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday in Allen County.   According to the report from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 54 year old Carla Brown was exiting I-75 into Breese Road, when she lost control of the car, which ended up off the left side of the road and struck a sign.   Disabling damage occurred to the vehicle.   Brown was cited for a reasonable control violation.

HN Students to Take ACT Test March 12

Hardin Northern students are getting some extra time to prepare to take the ACT.   Bad weather forced the cancellation of classes on Wednesday, so the date has been rescheduled for Tuesday March 12 in the school's multimedia room.   Juniors will need a #2 pencil and a calculator that meets ACT standards.

Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association Holds Training Day

Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart was one of nearly all 88 Ohio Sheriffs to attend training in Columbus Wednesday.   The day was part of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association Training, which was mandatory for the county sheriff's.   Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Superintendent of the Ohio Bureau of Investigation and Identification Joe Morbitzer, Ohio Auditor Keith Faber and Governor Mike DeWine.

WPD Welcomes New Auxiliary Officer

A new auxiliary officer was sworn in at the Wapakoneta Police Department on Wednesday.   Derek Nelson was sworn in by Wapakoneta Mayor Tom Stinebaugh.   Officer Nelson completed the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program at James Rhodes State College in October.
