Hardin County Retired Teachers Association Releases Minutes of Recent Meeting

The Hardin Co. Retired Teacher Association held its luncheon meeting at the Kenton Elks on May 16 at noon. Pres. Madelyn Lowery welcomed 19 members and 1 guest speaker Robin Rayfield. City Follows Through with Plans to Demolish Old Surplus Building

The process to raze the old Surplus Building in downtown Kenton has started. City Law Director John Schwemer said the city is following through with demolishing the building before the downtown revitalization project is completed. Owner Dave Rigdon was given a week to hire a contractor on his own, otherwise the city would have to act. A road rage incident in Kenton late Sunday afternoon landed a Forest woman behind bars. According to information on the Kenton Police Department's Daily Log Sheet, the incident occurred in the 800 block of West Lima Street.
