Michigan Man Arrested After Multi-County Pursuit Starting in Auglaize County Tuesday

A Detroit, Michigan man was arrested after a pursuit in Auglaize County Tuesday afternoon. According to a release from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Nathaniel Nix fled the Auglaize County Courthouse after a judge remanded him into custody. Before deputies arrived on scene, Nix is said to have broke out a window of the courthouse, jumped through the window and fled on foot. Water Main Break on Summit Street in Kenton

There is currently a water main break on Summit Street between Hester and Harding in Kenton. City crews are on site and working hard to fix the issue under pressure. Residents should be aware however that there is a possibility the water may need to be shut off temporarily. To ensure safety and a smooth repair process, Summit Street is blocked off at Hester and Harding. Stay tuned for further updates. City officials thanked residents for their cooperation and understanding.

Illegal Parking Violators Could be Ticketed

Some motorists are violating traffic laws when it comes to back in angle parking on Main Street in downtown Kenton. It is illegal, the same as it is for parallel parking, to cross the center lane and park on the opposite side of the street. Even though signs are not posted, and the city does not plan to install them, violators could receive a citation.

Intersections Closed in Advance of Kenton’s Detroit Street Project

The next phase of the downtown Kenton project is underway. The Detroit Street project will stretch from Ohio to Carrol Street. The Franklin and Columbus Street intersections are closed. Truck traffic is being detoured outside of town, but there will still be local deliveries being made. Residents are encouraged to utilize Main Street and any known shortcuts. This phase will emphasize infrastructure updates, including the installation of new water lines and storm drainage systems. The anticipated completion is 180 days.
