Excessive Heat Watch in Effect Friday and Saturday

Stop Signs Going Up at Intersection in Kenton

Stop signs are being installed this week an intersection in Kenton.   According to a release, stops signs are going up on Silver Street, Lark Lane and Autumn Haze Lane making a 4 way stop.   The work will be done thi Friday July 19.   Kenton Mayor Randy Manns said the signs are being installed for the safety of school children.

Blood Drive Today at United Way Office in Kenton

The American Red Cross is conducting a blood drive today at the United Way office in Kenton.   The hours are from one this afternoon until 6 this evening or later if anyone is in line.   There is a critical need as there is only a one to two day supply of blood to meet patients needs.   Walk-ins are welcome at today's blood drive, and the United Way office is located at 225 South Detroit Street in Kenton.

Dola Man Arrested on Union County Warrant

A Dola man was taken into custody this week on a warrant in Union County.   According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, a deputy went to the North Central Correctional Center and took custody of 36 year old David D. Roberts on the outstanding arrest warrant.   Roberts was taken to the Tri County Regional Jail.

Bass Fishing League Tournament Set for Indian Lake

Haircuts Benefit Boots for Bulldogs in Ada

A benefit haircut session is scheduled to take place in Ada next month.   The cuts for a Cause haircuts will be set up in the Hays Insurance parking lot from 2-5pm on Monday August 5.   The cost is a $10 or more donation per cut.   All of the proceeds go to Ada's Boots for Bulldogs.

Golden Anniversary of Moon Landing Celebration Continues in Wapak

Numerous activities continue in Wapakoneta during the Summer Moon Festival.   A Downtown Street Fair will start at 4 and will be held each evening through Saturday.   The Armstrong Air and Space Museum will be hosting various activities and exhibits as well.   The event celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20, 1969.   Wapakoneta's own Neil Armstrong became the first man to step foot on the lunar surface.

Battle of Badges Blood Drive in Hancock County Next Week

First responders in Hancock County are conducting a Battle of the Badges blood drive next month.   It will be held Monday August 12 from noon until 6 at the Findlay Elks Banquet Hall, 900 West Melrose Avenue in Findlay.   Those donating that day will receive a $10 Visa gift card while supplies last.   Make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
