U of F Offering Hazardous Waste Refresher Course

To celebrate its 30th anniversary of operation, University of Findlay’s All Hazards Training Center will offer a free refresher course during Homecoming and Family Weekend for emergence response and hazardous site workers. Tree Town Festival Starts Friday in Forest

The 2019 Tree Town Festival in Forest is to get started Friday night in Forest.   The event starts with a parade Friday evening. Severe Weather Rolls Through Lima; Power Outage Continues

Storms with gusty winds, hail and very heavy rains rolled through Lima Wednesday evening.   As a result, buildings were damaged, trees and power lines were brought down and flooding occurred throughout the city.   This morning, there are approximately 3,000 customers within the city of Lima and 4,300 in surrounding areas without power this morning.    AEP is continually assessing the situation & working to restore power.   There is no definite timeline when power will be restored.    […]

Hardin County Extension Releases June Rainfall Report

Hardin County –Extension rainfall reporters recorded an average of 7.08 inches of rain in Hardin County during June. Last year, the average rainfall for June was 6.09 inches. Rainfall for June 2019 was 1.46 inches more than the ten-year average rainfall in the month of June. Dudley Township received 10.24 inches, the most of the township sites. KENTON, OHIO - The Hardin County Department of Job and Family Services announced today they will be launching a countywide back to school shoe program for eligible Hardin County families begin Monday, July 29. “To be eligible families must reside in Hardin County, have children enrolled in grades K-12 and at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. USDA Extends Deadline to Report Spring-Seeded Crops in Ohio

COLUMBUS, OHIO – July 11, 2019 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending the deadline to file crop acreage reports for agricultural producers in Ohio impacted by flooding and heavy moisture.
