Zeemo-Toys in Space Show at Forest-Jackson Library

The Forest-Jackson Public Library will host the Zeemo--Toys in Space show on Tuesday June 18.   The 45 minute show, which is full of space age tricks, will amaze and amuse children of all ages.   Zeemo uses toys, which include yo-yos, tops, balloons, a gyroscope, juggling balls and a slinky, that were taken into space aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery.   The show starts at 10:30 on June 18 at Gormley Park in Forest.

Outdoor Movie Night Scheduled at Blanchard River Church

The Blanchard River Church of Christ is holding an Outdoor Movie Night tomorrow.   The film "Moms Night Out" will be shown starting at 8:15 Friday evening.   If it rains, the movie will be moved to indoors at the church.   The movie and popcorn are free, just bring a lawn chair or a blanket.   The church is located at 15745 State Route 81, Dunkirk.

Lima Police Department Summer Academy Kicked Off This Week

The opening day for the Lima Police Department Summer Academy was held this past Tuesday at Lima Senior High School.   On the first day, Chief Kevin Martin gave the opening statements.   K9 King and Officer Torres then presented a demonstration.   Students also participated in how officers conduct themselves when approaching pedestrians on the street, traffic stops, and a shoot or no shoot simulator.

The Marion Police Department is looking a man who is wanted on a warrant for Aggravated Menacing through the Marion Municipal Court. 22-year-old Ryan A. Belt  is a white male, 6’3”, 175 lbs, blond hair, blue eyes. Call 740-387-2525 or 740-375-TIPS if you have any information on his whereabouts.

Solar Panels Being Installed at Carey School

A solar panel field will be installed at the Carey School.   WFIN Radio reported that 3100 solar panels, which will generate 1.4 megawatts of electricity, will be put in by Eitri Foundry, of Orlando, Florida and Vaughn Industries, of Carey.   The school will pay 7.5 cents per kilowatt.   That adds up to an annual savings of $16,500 according to the Superintendent Mike Swank.   The solar farm will also prove to be educational as well since it […]

Fatal Crash Near Mt. Victory Under Investigation

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash that occurred early this morning near Mt. Victory.   According to a release from Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, deputies received a 9-1-1 call at around 3:30 this morning about a one vehicle crash on County Road 245.   When deputies arrived, a female identified as Martisol Lucila Aquirre-Murillo, was found deceased at the scene. Kenton Man Arrested on Warrants; Facing Drug Charges

A Kenton man was arrested Tuesday on warrants and is facing additional drug related charges.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers arrested 47 year old Michael F. Taylor at his residence in the 300 block of North High Street Tuesday afternoon.   Taylor was also charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instruments.
