Hardin County Student Among 65 to Receive OOGEEP Scholarship

Granville, OH, June 10, 2019 - 65 students, including Justin Light from Hardin County, have been awarded scholarships from the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and Foundation. Earthquake Felt New Cleveland This Morning

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Cleveland this morning. Media reports from the area are reporting that residents across a wide area of Northeast Ohio felt the earthquake around 10:50 this morning. Many say that it felt like their house had been hit by a car. It was centered in Lake Erie, north of Eastlake. No damage has been reported.

OSP to Start Effort to Cut Down on Failure to Yield Violations

Findlay – Failure to yield is the largest contributing factor for serious injury and fatal crashes in Hancock County. As a result, troopers from the Findlay Post will be working a targeted enforcement effort to reduce the number of injury and fatal crashes in Hancock County. Downtown Revitalization Meeting This Afternoon

An informational meeting to discuss the Kenton Downtown Revitalization Plan is scheduled for 4 this afternoon in Veteran's Hall at the Hardin County Courthouse.   The Downtown Revitalization Plan prioritizes capital improvements in the downtown. Grandstand at Hardin County Fairgrounds Being Painted

Owner Cited After Her Dog Bites a Child

A Kenton woman was issued a summons after her dog bit a child Sunday evening.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East Street to investigate the incident.   The 13 year old boy was riding on a scooter and suffered a minor injury when he was bit.   It was determined that the dog was owned by 55 year old Jacqueline Shirk, who lives in the 800 […]

Woman Arrested on Warrant Sunday Evening

A Kenton woman was arrested on a warrant Sunday evening.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, an officer was leaving Forest Court Apartments when he noticed a male and female arguing.   The officer stopped to make sure they were okay, and it was discovered that the female, 32 year old Alisha Wynegar, had an active warrant out of the Lima Police Department.   She was arrested and transported to Maysville where she was released to the custody […]

KENTON-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International announced the Club 250 winner for week 28.   Holly Ferrel will receive $100.   Club 250 is a fundraiser that helps to award scholarships to local women and girls.
