Human Remains Found in Marion in 2007 Have Been Identified

Human remains found in Marion County back in 2007 have been identified as that of a missing Louisiana woman.   Today, the Marion County Sheriff's office identified the remains as that of Dana Nicole Lowery, who was 23 when she reported missing in May of 2006. Latta Thanks Celina First Responders on House Floor

Congressman Bob Latta thanked Celina’s first responders on the House floor Monday night, after  deadly tornadoes ripped through the region last week.   Latta was in Celina on Wednesday to survey the damage and meet with residents.     The congressman noted that the police, fire, emergency management and emergency services were out when it struck in the evening, and they worked all night long and straight through. He said it is amazing to see how the community came together.

67 in Hardin County; State Route 4 in Marion County Closed for Projects

State Route 67 at township Road 119, west of the city of Kenton, closed Monday June 3, for approximately 75 days for a culvert replacement.   The project also includes the reprofiling of 67 and Township Road 119 to enhance sight distance at the intersection.   Township Road 119 at state Route 67 will also be closed during the project.   67 traffic will be detoured onto State Routes 235 and 309 back to state Route 67.   Township Road […]

Kenton Man Facing Charges Following Drug Overdose

A 28 year old Kenton man is facing drug charges following an overdose reported Monday afternoon.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of East Franklin Street where they found the man unconscious.   He was revived by emergency medical technicians from BKP and transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital.   Officers seized several drug related items at the scene.   The man is facing charges of possession […]

Carey Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to 1869 TR 136, Portage Township at 2:37 PM this past Sunday afternoon for a report of a man with a knife attempting to break into the residence. According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, as a result of the investigation, 37 year old Chad Howard, of Carey, Ohio, was arrested and has been formally charged through Findlay Municipal Court with a single count of Attempt to Murder. Driver Charged with OVI Following Union County Crash

A Raymond man was charged following a crash this past Sunday night in Union County.   According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the 11,000 block of State Route 739 to investigate the crash.   A car driven by 60 year old David K. Cook left the roadway and ended up in a yard.   Cook was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control.   […]

Richwood Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

A Richwood man was arrested following a domestic disturbance in that village Sunday night.   According to the Union County Sheriff's Office release, deputies and an officer from the Richwood Police Department responded to a residence on Graham Street to investigate a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.   36 year old Matthew J. Beaumont was arrested for domestic violence and was transported to the Tri County Regional Jail.

Findlay – The time period from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend is referred to as the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to drive buckled, focused and sober. Last year, 336 fatal crashes killed 360 people during this time period. Gordmans Set to Open June 27 in Kenton

Apparel and home decor retailer Gordmans will be opening in Kenton on June 27.   A ribbon cutting will take place at 9 that morning.   During the Grand Opening, the store will present a $1000 check to the Kenton High School.   As part of the festivities, Gordmans stores will be offering giveaways and other surprises as well.   The store is located in the Kenton Shopping Plaza in a building that housed Peebles, which went out of business.
