True Armyworm and Black Cutworm Traps Set in Hardin County Fields

Hardin County OSU Extension announced last week that 3 True Armyworm and 3 Black Cutworm traps were set last week in Hardin County wheat and corn field locations. The purpose is to monitor these crop pests for statewide OSU Extension research. After the first week of insect trapping in Hardin County, 5 True Armyworm and 18 Black Cutworm moths were caught in 4 of 6 of the traps set.

Kenton-Hardin Health Department Bike Program Scheduled

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department is holding a Family Bike Program.  The event will be held on June 17th from 9am-1pm at Mid - Ohio Cooperative 1210 West Lima Street in Kenton.  This event is for all ages as long as the child can ride a bike without training wheels.  Registration deadline is May 22nd to ensure bikes are obtained. HN First Graders Study Weather Types

Hardin Northern first grade has been studying different types of weather. They researched five types of weather, the water cycle, and different clouds.  The students created a booklet with different weather facts, a craft showing the different kinds of clouds, and planted seeds in bags so they could watch the water cycle. Then students picked their favorite type of weather, wrote sentences, and drew a picture.
