Kenton Adjusts Basketball Schedule for Boys Games

The Kenton High School has announced that the date of the final home boys basketball game versus Upper Scioto Valley has been pushed up to Thursday, February 21st instead of Saturday the 23rd. The girls basketball team plays in the sectional championship on February 23rd at 8PM, so the school wanted to give everyone the chance to be in attendance of that game and support them in their post-season run. KMS Wresting Team Defeats Defiance

The Kenton Middle School wrestling team came away with a win over Defiance 41-40 last night in a home dual match. Both teams were knotted up at 40-40 after all the matches and tie-breaker criteria was used to determine the final outcome with Kenton on top. Defiance Defeats Kenton in Wrestling Match Monday

The Kenton High School Coed Varsity Wrestling team fell to Defiance High School 53-19 Monday night. Four Wildcats were victorious over the Bulldogs. Carter Bays beat Dominic Tracy with a pin fall at the 2:50 mark in the second period. Josh Davis recorded his first varsity win with a 6-5 decision over Keaton Linebrink. Ethan Manns earned a major decision win over Alex Hoeffel. Manns racked up 11 unanswered points in a 11-0 win. Noah Eikenbary won by forfeit.

Mustangs Defeat Rams 59-34

Tori Newland scored 23 points to lead Allen East to a 59-34 win over Upper Scioto Valley in girls basketball action Saturday afternoon. Katie Newland added 14 more points for the Mustangs, who improve to 12-4 with the win. Upper Scioto Valley (2-16) got 14 points from Haylie Martin.

The Shawnee Indians pulled away in the second half to defeat the Kenton Wildcats 75-45 in Western Buckeye League boys basketball action Friday. The Indians (14-2 overall, 5-1 WBL) led 33-27 at the half but outscored the Wildcats 42-18 in the second half.
