Alger Community Clean-Up Day Scheduled for June 20

The Village of Alger The Village of Alger Community Clean-Up Day has been scheduled for Saturday, June 20. It will run from 9AM to noon at the Village Garage. Alger residents can dispose of household junk and general clean-up items, and unwanted items from garages, sheds, and yards. Items that will not be accepted include tires, batteries, paint, pre-construction wood, hazardous materials, trash and cement.

Gas Prices Continue to Climb Across U.S., Ohio and Hardin County

Average prices for a gallon of gasoline continue to rise. According to AAA, the average U.S. price is $4.16 a gallon today, which is an increase of a dime since last week. Kenton Man Pleads Guilty to Kidnapping, Assault Charges; Ada Woman Indicted in Separate Case

A Kenton man changed his plea to guilty on multiple charges Tuesday in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to Court documents, Scott A. Fulmer was then found guilty on 3 counts of kidnapping, 3 counts of felonious assault, one count of having weapons under disability and one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. He was indicted on the charges in October of 2025, and the incidents occurred the month before. Fulmer faces up to 23 years […]

Bluffton University to Host Annual Academic Awards Forum April 21

BLUFFTON, Ohio — Bluffton University will recognize student academic achievement during the Academic Awards Forum at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, in Yoder Recital Hall.  The Forum will honor students for outstanding academic performance, scholarly excellence and contributions to the intellectual life of the university. Awards will be presented across multiple disciplines, recognizing sustained achievement as well as exceptional accomplishments during the academic year.  The Forum is free and open to the public.

Hardin County Retired Teacher Association Luncheon Scheduled April 17

The Hardin County Retired Teacher Association will have a luncheon meeting at the Kenton Elks on April 17 at noon. The speakers will be Katie Roby and Amanda Murphy who will speak about Blacks Orchard. The lunch cost is $12, and RSVP's need to be made by April 13 by calling 567-674-4536. Donations will be for God’s Lifeline. Guests are welcome along with any Hardin County retired teacher.

BKP Ambulance District BKP Ambulance District is sending a team to be part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake this Saturday, April 11.
