A Grant Celebration was held Thursday as the Hardin County Community Foundation awarded 2019 grants and scholarships. 137 grants were approved along with 5 scholarships. The total amount awarded was $157,698. The ceremony was held Thursday afternoon at the Armory in Kenton. Grants are awarded from interest earned on the Foundation's principal amount, which as of March stood at 6.9 million dollars.
A stretch of road in McDonald Township has been reopened following a project. According to the Hardin County Engineer’s Office, County Road 65 was reopened Thursday afternoon. 65 was closed between State Route 67 and County Road 150.
Ridgemont students were treated to a visit by the Exotic Zoo on Thursday. The Ridgemont Public Library arranged the visit. The Exotic Zoo provides a “Zoo” for the day. Flood warnings are in effect for some areas in our region. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Logan, Auglaize and southwestern Union County until 4:45 this afternoon. This after over 4 inches of rain fell in some places overnight. Law enforcement in those areas reported that flooding has occurred across the region, and numerous roads have been closed.
