OSP Operating a OVI Checkpoint Near Lima Tonight

Social Security Scams on the Increase in Wyandot County

The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office said they have received several calls this week in reference to the Social Security Scam.   They advised citizens to be vigilant and do not give any personal information to the subjects who are attempting to scam you.   Some of the callers can be very aggressive and may resort to scare tactics.   The Sheriff's Office release said you should hang up on the call and call their office for further guidance.   The […]

Union County Man Arrested on Warrant

A Raymond, Ohio man was arrested following a domestic disturbance this week.   According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 26,000 block of State Route 739 to investigate a domestic dispute between a father and a son.   After further investigation, 22 year old Brayden M. Eastman was arrested for domestic violence and criminal damaging.   He was transported to the Tri County Regional Jail.

Hardin County Community Foundation to Award Over $150,000 in Grants

The Hardin County Community Foundation approved grants totaling $157,698.   166 applications were received requested funds. Of those, 137 grants were approved along with 5 scholarships.   As of March, the Foundation reported its portfolio was valued at just under 6.9 million dollars.   Only interest earned on the principal is used for grants.   The Foundation will hold an annual Grant Celebration  to award the grants.   The ceremony will start at 4:30pm on Thursday May 16 at the […]

The Hardin County Engineer's Office announced a road opening.   McDonald Township Road 210, between County Roads 75 and 115 is now open.   The stretch of road was closed for a road construction project.

Kenton Head Start Holding Recruiting Event

Kenton Headstart will be hosting an Ice Cream Social Open House Recruiting event on Thursday May 2nd at 4pm.   This event is for families interested in preschool services for children 3 to 5 years old for the 2019-2020 school year. University of Findlay Displaying Christian Themed Artwork

The University of Findlay’s religious heritage is being recognized with a Christian-themed exhibition of original artwork from picture books.   The exhibition is titled “Founded in Faith: Findlay’s Religious Heritage.”   Fifteen works, displayed in the Miller Gallery, were chosen from the Museum’s existing collection and curated to reflect and celebrate the University’s spiritual origins.   The exhibition will be on display for about a year.

OSHP 165th Academy Holding Graduation Ceremony

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s 165th Academy Class will graduate during a ceremony scheduled for 1:00pm Friday April 26 at the OSHP Academy in Columbus.   The 51 cadets successfully completed courses in crash investigation, criminal and traffic law, detection of impaired drivers, firearms, physical fitness, self-defense, and emergency vehicle operations.   Each of the graduates will report to their posts on Sunday, April 28, 2019.   The new graduates are assigned to 33 of the Patrol’s 59 posts.
