Property belonging to a rent to own business in Kenton was said to have been pawned. According to that report from the Kenton Police Department, officials from Showplace Rent to Own told officers that a television owned by them and being rented by a Kenton woman, was pawned. The television is valued at $725. A 37 year old Kenton woman is facing a charge of theft without consent. The incident remains under investigation.
A road construction project in Findlay is scheduled to start March 25. According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Logan Avenue, between Lima Avenue and Blaine Street in that city, is expected to close for two months while the street is reconstructed to match the new alignment of Lima Avenue. Lieutenant Colonel Richard S. Fambro was ceremonially promoted to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s highest rank on Monday. Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Thomas J. Stickrath conducted the ceremony. Colonel Fambro will serve as the 19th Superintendent of the Patrol, making history as he becomes the first African American to hold the position.
A CSX train through Kenton is experiencing a mechanical issue and is blocking the tracks through the city of Kenton According to the Kenton Police Department, the train has a broken airline, and according to officials from CSX, it could be "a while" until they get it fixed. Several mishaps occurred this morning due to slippery road conditions. The most serious was reported around 6:35 this morning on State Route 31 south of Kenton, where the driver slid off the road and the vehicle overturned.
