Car Wash Equipment Damaged by Oversize Vehicle

An oversize vehicle damaged equipment at the Columbus Street Car Wash Monday afternoon.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, the owner told officers that the vehicle was too large for the automatic wash bay and the washing tower was damaged as a result.   Video of the incident shows only the vehicle, which was a full sized white van. Woman Accused of Pawning Rented Property

Property belonging to a rent to own business in Kenton was said to have been pawned.   According to that report from the Kenton Police Department, officials from Showplace Rent to Own told officers that a television owned by them and being rented by a Kenton woman, was pawned. The television is valued at $725.   A 37 year old Kenton woman is facing a charge of theft without consent.   The incident remains under investigation.

Road Construction Project Starts in Findlay Next Week

A road construction project in Findlay is scheduled to start March 25.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Logan Avenue, between Lima Avenue and Blaine Street in that city, is expected to close for two months while the street is reconstructed to match the new alignment of Lima Avenue.   The roadway first closed last year, but temporary access was restored through the winter.   The upcoming closure will allow for the final reconstruction of […]

Ceremony Held for New OSP Superintendent

Lieutenant Colonel Richard S. Fambro was ceremonially promoted to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s highest rank on Monday.   Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Thomas J. Stickrath conducted the ceremony.   Colonel Fambro will serve as the 19th Superintendent of the Patrol, making history as he becomes the first African American to hold the position.

Train Blocking Tracks in Kenton

A CSX train through Kenton is experiencing a mechanical issue and is blocking the tracks through the city of Kenton According to the Kenton Police Department, the train has a broken airline, and according to officials from CSX, it could be "a while" until they get it fixed. Traffic is beginning to back up in the city, especially on the north/south streets like Main and Detroit.

One person was killed in a plane crash that occurred Sunday evening in Union County.   The Union County Sheriff's Office reports that the crash occurred in a farm field along U.S. Route 42. Injury Accident Blamed on Slippery Roads This Morning

Several mishaps occurred this morning due to slippery road conditions.   The most serious was reported around 6:35 this morning on State Route 31 south of Kenton, where the driver slid off the road and the vehicle overturned.   The woman was freed from the vehicle and taken by helicopter to a Lima hospital. Unoccupied Car Hit by Train in Findlay

A car versus train accident occurred Sunday night in Findlay.   According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched just before 9:30 Sunday night to the 300 block of Walnut Street where the car became stuck on the tracks.   The driver, who was identified as Chastity A.
