Board of Elections Announces Filing Deadline Date

The filing deadline for nominating petitions for independent candidates for the November 7 General Election is May 1.   The petitions must be filed at the Hardin County Board of Elections office by 4:00 p.m on May 1. The Board of Elections Office is located in the basement of the Hardin County Courthouse in downtown Kenton.

Section of SR 31 South of Kenton Set to Close Thursday

A section of State Route 31 south of Kenton is scheduled to be closed starting this Thursday. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, 31 between County Road 180 and Township Road 265, three miles south of Kenton, will close April 27 for a culvert replacement project. It will be closed for approximately 60 days. A detour will be in place.

Resurfacing Project Scheduled for May in Kenton

An upcoming resurfacing project will impact traffic in Kenton for several months starting in May. The Ohio Department of Transportation is scheduled to resurface State Route 67, which is Columbus Street in Kenton, from Wayne Street to Morningside Drive. No specific day was released for when the project will start in May, and it is slated to be completed by September. You can expect daily lane closures during that time.

Kenton School Superintendent Thankful for ODOT’s Safety Improvements

Town-Wide Clean Up Day Scheduled in Forest

A town-wide clean-up day has been scheduled for June 17 in the Village of Forest. Volunteers are needed from 10am until 1 that afternoon.   They will be picking up trash around the entire town.   The Village will be providing gloves and trash bags.   If you are able to volunteer your time and efforts, contact the village office.

Extension Offices Kick Off Ohio Victory Gardens Program
