Lima Police Seeking Help to Solve Cold Case Investigation

The Lima Police Department is asking for information to help solve a cold case investigation. On August 23, 2003, officers were dispatched to an apartment at 558 West Market Street in Lima in reference to a shooting.   Upon arrival, 53 year old William Powell was found in the kitchen.   He was suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower legs and was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Ohio Sales Tax Holiday Expanded for 2024

The Ohio Department of Taxation has announced an expanded Sales Tax Holiday for 2024. It will be held from midnight Tuesday July 30 through 11:59pm on Thursday August 8. In addition to running longer, this year's holiday will include more eligible items to purchase and offer much higher price limits on items that will not be taxed. FEMA Disaster Assistance Tops More than 3.7 Million Dollars

More than $3.7 million in assistance has been provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration since a major disaster declaration was made following the March 14 tornado outbreak. Homeowners and renters whose homes and property were damaged by the storms, and who still need to apply for federal assistance, have until July 1 to do so. USV Library Receives Grant

Upper Scioto Valley's school library was awarded a Celebrating Ohio Awards and Authors grant this spring.   The grant enabled the school library to build and expand the collection with award winning authors and titles. Hardin County – The Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting three summer garden programs at the Friendship Gardens of Hardin County located at 960 W. Sheriff’s Office Continues Search for Missing Man

Release from Hardin County Sheriff's Office: The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its efforts to determine the whereabouts of a McGuffey, Ohio man missing from his residence since late March. The Sheriff's Office was contacted March 31st by a member of 66 year old Michael Bolen’s family, stating that he had not been seen since March 29th.
