Kenton Councilman to Stand Trial in October for Domestic Violence Case from July

A Kenton City Council member, who was arrested Monday, was also cited for domestic violence in July of this year. According to documents filed in Hardin County Municipal Court, 55-year-old Steve Walter, who represents the city's 3rd Ward, was charged in early July of this year. As of this morning, a jury trial is scheduled for October 10 for that charge. A Kenton City Council member was arrested this (Monday) afternoon. 55-year-old Steve Walter, who represents the city's 3rd Ward, is being held on charges of strangulation and domestic violence. Council President Joel Althauser had no comment on the arrest at this time. He referred the matter to the Kenton Police Department. Kenton Rotary Helps KMS Student Josh Horton Earn Top Honors at Dayton Air Camp

A Kenton Middle School student was able to attend Air Camp in Dayton this summer thanks to the Kenton Rotary and other financial supporters. For a week in July, Josh Horton toured the Dayton Air Force Museum, visited Huffman Prairie Flying Field where Orville and Wilber Wright made over 100 early fights.  The participants also toured the Dayton Airport, where they observed several planes land from the control tower. Groundbreaking Ceremony for Vancrest of Kenton Set for Sept. 23

A Groundbreaking Ceremony for Vancrest of Kenton will be held Tuesday, September 23. It will start at 2:00pm that afternoon at the Wildcat Way location. Vancrest is building a 67,700 square foot, 64-bed nursing and residential care facility. It is expected to create 51 jobs and a payroll of nearly 2 million dollars. If all goes as planned, it will open in the Spring of 2027.
