Two people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office: .Catherine E. Summit was sentenced to a minimum of 7 years up to a maximum of 9 years in prison on charges of aggravated vehicular assault and operating a vehicle under the influence. .Brian J. Messick was placed on five years community control on one count of trespassing. Both cases were heard by Judge Scott Barrett.
The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Wednesday, June 2, 2021, for their June monthly board meeting. Eleven directors and eight guests were present. A road construction project is taking place on Julia Street in Forest today. The work is being done from South Mad River to Mary Street. Work crews are grinding the street today and will be paving on Saturday. Village officials are asking everyone to avoid that area while work is going on.

The Alger Public Library Summer Reading Program kickoff event will be held June 8. The program allows participants to learn, create, explore, and have fun reading all summer long. A roll over crash occurred this past Tuesday night in the 300 block of North Detroit Street in Kenton.
