City of Kenton Government An update was provided by city officials on the Columbus Street sidewalk project in Kenton. Construction continues moving west, and access to some businesses may be limited. If your usual entrance or exit is closed, you are encouraged to use alternate access points and plan ahead. For everyone’s safety, drivers should slow down while traveling through the area and avoid using parking lots as shortcuts.

Kenton High School Boys and Girls Soccer staff and players will be holding a summer camp for boys and girls ages 4 through 8th grade July 27 through July 30. Campers will be grouped by grade and/or age and will participate in drills that emphasize footwork skills, shooting, passing, and defending. Hardin County Family YMCA. The gym at the Hardin County Family YMCA, located at 918 West Franklin Street in Kenton, will be closed next week. That is due to a resurfacing project on the gym floors. The gym will be closed July 20-26. YMCA officials thanked members for their understanding.
Raising Arrows Ohio Raising Arrows is holding a Back-to-School Shopping Week for foster and kinship families. This will take place Monday through Saturday next week at 613 Hamilton Street in Bellefontaine. With a new school year coming up fast, the West Ohio Food Bank is asking for donations to help fill a child’s lunch bag. Chief Executive Officer Tommie Harner noted that every $10 will provide enough food for up to 50 nutritious meals. She added that support will strengthen the food bank's School Pantry and Backpack Programs, which provide vital resources that bring fresh, nutritious food into schools across their 11-county area, including Hardin. The start of the roundabout project in Kenton has been postponed. According to information from the Ohio Department of Transportation, they previously expected to begin the project this construction season, take a winter break, and finish next construction season, but those plans have changed. The latest update is they will begin work this winter and finish by September 1, 2027. The contractor has not yet given ODOT an exact starting date.
