Lima Hit-Skip Crash Leads to OVI Arrest

A hit/skip crash Thursday morning in Lima led to an OVI arrest. According to the Lima Police Department report, a vehicle slowed for the roundabout at Main and Market Streets, when it was struck from behind by a vehicle that then fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle that was struck obtained a license plate, and police found the driver. 35-year-old Brittney Williams was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle intoxicated. There were no injuries in the crash.

County Receives Grant for Asbestos Removal/Remediation of Former Hardin Hills Building

Hardin County Board of Commissioners has a received a one million dollar grant to abate and remove more than 30,000 square feet and 30,000 linear feet of asbestos-containing materials from the former Hardin Hills Health facility at 1211 West Lima Street in Kenton. Hardin County BPW to Meet May 27 in Kenton

The Hardin County Business and Professional Women’s Club will meet on May 27. It will start at 5:30 that evening the Royal Buffet in Kenton. The speaker will be Jennifer Ramge, who will talk about the Hardin County Historic Courthouse District. Guests are welcome at the meeting. Hardin County BPW also issued a reminder that scholarship applications need to be sent to Vanessa Brim by May 31.

Ohio Northern University to Award 742 Degrees This Weekend

Ohio Northern University will award approximately 742 degrees to its Class of 2026 at three ceremonies this Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17. The Pettit College of Law ceremony is on Saturday at 10am, the Raabe College of Pharmacy ceremony is Sunday at 9am, and the undergraduate ceremony is Sunday at 2pm. The ceremonies will be held at the King-Horn Field House on the campus in Ada.

OVI Checkpoints Planned Friday in Allen, Hancock and Logan Counties

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that statewide OVI checkpoints will be conducted in 24 counties Friday evening. In our region, the counties include Allen, Hancock, and  Logan counties. The statewide OVI checkpoints, paid for by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. Exact locations for the statewide checkpoints will be announced Friday morning.
