Gallon of Gas Up 17 Cents from Last Week

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County today was up 17 cents compared to last week.   AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas is $2.67, compared to $2.50 last Monday.   That is still the cheapest price in the region.   Union County at $2.87 a gallon was the most expensive.   The statewide average per gallon is at $2.74 and the national average is $2.75 a gallon.

2019 Logan County Fair Underway

The 2019 Logan County Fair got started Sunday and will run through this Saturday July 13 at the fairgrounds in Bellefontaine.   Tonight is Carload Night. After 4 this afternoon, admission is $20 per car load.   General admission is $5 through Thursday and $7 for Friday and Saturday.   This Wednesday is Senior Citizens Day with free admission for seniors.

Theft Reported at Kenton Business on Sunday

A theft was reported at Shoe Sensation in Kenton on Sunday.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the store around 4:30 Sunday to investigate.   A pair of boots valued at just under $86 was allegedly stolen by a named suspect.   So far no charges have been filed.

Fontaine Closed Starting Today in Kenton

A reminder that U.S. 68, which is Fontaine Street in the City of Kenton, between Espy Street and Letson Avenue closed this morning for approximately five days for storm sewer repairs.    Traffic is being detoured onto Letson Avenue, State Route 31, which is Main Street and Carrol Street back to U.S. 68.    The work is being performed by the city of Kenton.

Firearm Stolen from Kenton Residence

The theft of a firearm was reported to Kenton police over the weekend.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of North Detroit Street, where they discovered that a .45 caliber handgun had been stolen.   The value of the gun was listed at $550.   The incident is under investigation.

Two Arrested on Warrants

Two people were arrested on warrants over the weekend. 34 year Nikia Baker, of Sidney, was arrested in the 200 block of South Leighton Street on a warrant out of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.   He was transported to Williamstown and released to the custody of a Hancock County Sheriff's deputy. 30 year old Lester Cornish was arrested at his residence on Grape Street.   He had warrants through Hardin County Municipal Court and the Hardin and Huron County […]
