ADA — Jim Cordle has been named an assistant football coach at Ohio Northern and will serve as the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. Riverdale Wrestler Competing at District Match this Weekend

The District match for a Riverdale wrestler is set for this weekend. Loukas Carter will wrestle Connor Smith of Gibsonburg in the opening round at 157 pounds. Wrestling starts at 10 this Saturday morning and is scheduled to continue Sunday at Rossford High School.  All tickets must be purchased online.

Bluffton Grad Finds Success on National Stage

An athlete from our region had success on the national stage. Trevor Bassitt won the indoor 400m USATF national championship. He is a senior at Ashland University and a graduate of Bluffton High School.   Bassitt is the first collegian to win the national championship in the indoor 400m since 1990.  He qualified for team USA and will run at the IAAF world indoor track and field championships in Belgrade, Serbia next month.

ONU Alumnus to Compete in 800-Meter Run at USATF Indoor Championships

ADA — Ohio Northern alumnus Emily Richards is competing in the 800-meter run at the USATF Indoor Championships at The Podium in Spokane, Wash., on Saturday and Sunday. Richards will compete against 17 other runners in the 800 prelim on Saturday at 6:24 p.m. (EST).The 800 final is scheduled for Sunday at 5:22 p.m. (EST). The Hardin Northern Athletic Department announced an update to the schedule of sporting events. HN Boys Basketball Team Gets a Visit from Coach Cook

The Hardin Northern Boys Basketball was grateful to receive a visit this week from Coach Jon Cook.   Coach Cook attended practice to pass along some sound words of wisdom and a few coaching tips as the Polar Bears enter the halfway point of the season and get ready for a competitive second half.   The Hardin Northern Coaching staff also expressed their gratitude for the time and consideration that Coach Cook spent sharing his thoughts and perspectives to the young players.
