The Wildcats came up against a very talented Lima Central Catholic team last night. After losing set 1 5-25 due to 2 long serving stretches by LCC, the Lady Cats bounced back in the 2nd set to tie the score at 18-18 before losing 18-25. Scoring for the Wildcats were Brayla Butler (2 pts), Kylie Searson (1 pt), Kylyne Anspach (1 pt), Presley Wilson (6 pts), and CJ Newberry (1 pt). Kenton High School Boys Varsity Soccer ties Elida High School 2-2 In the WBL opener for both teams last night in Elida the Cats and bulldogs played to a 2-2 draw. The Kenton Girls Soccer team fell in another tight contest Thursday night at Ben Logan 2-1. Kenton lead at halftime 1-0 after a goal by Ali Harpel on an assist from Abi Temple. The Raiders tied it up in the second half before taking the lead with 10 minutes on the clock to win the game. Kenton returns to action Saturday night at Riverdale.
The Kenton High School Boys Varsity Golf team falls to Wapakoneta High School 184-204 Thursday. The team was lead by Max Haushalter (49) and Noah Ketcham (49). Grady Baum was a shot behind with a (50), then followed by Stone Sauber (56).
Kenton High School Girls Varsity Tennis falls to St. Marys Memorial High School 5-0 on Thursday. Katie Sturgeon battled at second singles, but lost the first set tiebreak 6-8 and lost the second set 4-6. After a week off for the fair, Kenton will travel to Shawnee on September 13th.
Bath pulled away in the second half to defeat Kenton 43-13 in Western Buckeye League football play Friday at Robinson Field. Bath improves to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league while Kenton is now 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the WBL. The game was knotted at 13 at the half but Bath outscored Kenton 30-0 in the second half to post the victory. The Riverdale JV Football team will play Findlay's freshmen team on Thursday, September 2. The game will kickoff at 5:30pm. It will be played at Findlay High School, not Donnell Stadium.
