Kenton Defeats Riverdale in Girls Basketball Action

The Kenton Lady Wildcats defeated Riverdale 53-32 over the weekend. The Cats used a strong 3rd quarter to top the Falcons. Lindsey Smith was the leading scorer for the Cats with 16 points. Kenzie Bays had 14 and Sid Plott added 10. Riverdale was led by Reagan Mckinnis and Lanie Howell with 8 points each. The 2 quarter JV game was won by Kenton 33-13.

KMS Wrestlers Finish 7th Out of 19 Teams in Weekend Tournament

The Kenton Middle School Wrestling team finished strong with 167 team points in the Allen East Tournament on Saturday placing 7th out of nineteen teams. Six wildcats placed in their weight classes. Anthony Hunt (110 lbs), Landon Dillard (128 lbs) and Tim Wilkinson were all runner-ups for the tournament just coming short in their finals match-up. The Kenton Wildcats rallied past Riverdale for a 45-43 victory in boys basketball action Saturday. Coby Miller hit a baseline jumper with a minute to play to give Riverdale a 43-41 lead, but Jayden Cornell drained a three-pointer with 17.3 seconds left to put the Wildcats on top 44-43. The Kenton Wildcats opened Western Buckeye League play Friday by defeating Bath 63-61. Jayden Cornell had 22 points and five rebounds for Kenton, which is 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the WBL.
