Softball Tournament - Hardin Northern vs USV 5/21/26 WKTN Sports
The Kenton 7th-grade boys' basketball team dropped a tough one to Ottawa-Glandorf, 30-35. After leading most of the way, Kenton saw the game slip away in the final moments. Dawson Wallace Griffin Hensel led the Wildcats with 14 points each, while Kenny Morris added 2. The team will be back on the court Wednesday (12/17) at home against Allen East, with tip-off at 5:30 pm.
Ottawa-Glandorf came out strong after capitalizing on some early Wildcats turnovers in their Monday night matchup. The Wildcats fought back to bring the deficit to single digits in the third quarter, but OG managed to pull away again. For Kenton, Kyndal Gammon scored 6 points, Adella Dudek added 5, and Eliannah Miller chipped in a free throw. The Wildcats will hit the court again Wednesday at Allen East.
The boys' basketball matchup between Kenton and Riverdale, scheduled for tonight (12/13/25), has been postponed due to inclement weather. The makeup date is yet to be determined. The next high school basketball broadcast on WKTN will feature Cory-Rawson at USV on Friday, December 19th. The Cessna Transport pregame show starts at 7 PM, followed by tip-off at 7:30.
The Kenton Wildcat Boys bowling team traveled to Fostoria Thursday, winning big 2303 - 1364. The Wildcats opened up with a 1049 1st individual games to take a commanding lead. The Kenton Wildcat Girls bowling team traveled to Fostoria on Thursday and left with a victory, 1560 - 1103. The 1st individual games saw Kenton take a 125-pin lead, 651-426. Their lead grew to 457 pins after the 2nd individual games, 672 - 440. The Kenton Wildcats pulled off another close WBL win Saturday morning, this time against Shawnee, with a final score of 2516-2392. They started strong with an 894 in the first individual games, taking a 78-pin lead. Shawnee fought back in the second individual games, 809-868, trimming the lead to 19 pins heading into the five baker games. After the first two bakers, the score was tied at 1994. They started strong with a 553 in the first individual games, taking a 111-pin lead, and followed it up with a 556 in the second to extend their advantage to 1109-836. H/T Upper Sandusky E.V. Schools (OH) Ethan Lewis from Upper Sandusky was named 3rd Team All-Ohio. The senior linebacker dominated the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with an impressive 163 tackles. Proving his versatility, Lewis also ranked sixth in the conference for rushing, racking up 850 yards and scoring seven touchdowns during the regular season.
