The Ben Logan Raiders traveled to Northwestern Saturday afternoon to take on the Warriors in a CBC girls basketball contest. The JV Raiders started off the afternoon with a huge win beating the Warriors 40 to 19. A balanced scoring attach led to 10 girls scored. Leading the way was Illiana Vermillion with 8 points. The Kenton Wildcats kicked off WBL play Thursday night with a thrilling match against Van Wert, pulling off a 30-pin victory, 2713-2683. The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders traveled to Tecumseh Wednesday night for a cross-conference game. The JV Raiders played only two quarters due to Tecumseh having multiple injuries. The Upper Scioto Valley boys basketball game scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, has been moved up. The JV game will now tip off at 4 PM with the varsity game immediately following. The Rams made the adjustment so everyone will be able to get home and enjoy the Big Ten Championship game between Ohio State and Indiana. Ohio high schools have voted to approve an emergency bylaw on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), making it the 45th state to allow NIL at the high school level. The vote wrapped up on Friday, November 21, with 447 schools in favor, 121 opposed, and 247 choosing not to vote. Kenton Junior Sidney Payne single-handedly matched LCC's scoring output to set a new Kenton single-game scoring record with 41 points. The previous record has stood since 1983, when Deb Brooks scored 37. The Wildcats will be back in action tonight at Allen East with tipoff scheduled for 7 PM.
