OVI Checkpoints Planned Friday in Allen, Hancock and Logan Counties

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that statewide OVI checkpoints will be conducted in 24 counties Friday evening. In our region, the counties include Allen, Hancock, and  Logan counties. The statewide OVI checkpoints, paid for by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. Exact locations for the statewide checkpoints will be announced Friday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced the location and hours of an OVI checkpoint in Marion County tonight. It will be located on Mount Vernon Avenue in Marion. The time is from 9:00 until 10:30pm. The statewide OVI checkpoint, paid for by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. 15-Year-Old Arrested After Marion Shooting Injures One

One person was injured and several houses were hit after multiple gunshots were fired in Marion Wednesday afternoon. According to a release from the Marion Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Oak and Chestnut Streets at around 2:15pm. Riverdale Night of the Arts Celebrates Student Talent

Riverdale Local Schools Riverdale School's Night of the Arts earlier this week was a huge success. The incredible talents of Riverdale students were celebrated at the event. The 5th Grade Band delivered a performance as past part of the festivities. The Auxiliary Gymnasium was completely transformed into an art gallery and was filled wall-to-wall with beautiful artwork created by all of the elementary students.

Hardin Northern Academic Awards Set for Tomorrow

Hardin Northern Local School District Academic Awards will be presented to Hardin Northern Junior and High School students tomorrow. It will begin at 12:30 Friday afternoon. Senior Breakfast and Graduation Practice, which are mandatory, will also take place Friday, and seniors must arrive by 7:55 tomorrow morning. Seniors are encouraged to arrive on time, and dress appropriately for the occasion.

Hardin County Board of Elections to Meet Monday

The Hardin County Board of Elections will meet Monday, May 18. It will start at 9:00 a.m. in their office in the Hardin County Courthouse in Kenton. The meeting is being held to certify provisional ballots and for the Official Canvass of the May 5 Primary Election.  In addition, the board will conduct regular business, including approval of meeting minutes and approving bills.
