Commissioners Hear Update on Hardin Hills Facility

The Hardin Hills Administrator presented the March financials and updates to the Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting.   Sharon Huston stated that the March profit for the facility was $95,538, with the year to date profit at just over $16,600. Filing Deadline Looming for Independent Candidates in Fall Election

People looking to run as independent candidates in the November 5 General Election are facing a filing deadline.   According to a release from the Hardin County Board of Elections, petitions must be filed at their office by 4:00pm Monday May 6.   The Board of Elections office is located in the lower level of the Hardin County Courthouse in Kenton.   If you have any questions, the phone number is 419-674-2211.

Unemployment Rates Drop Around the Region

Ohio's unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in March, down from 4.6 percent in February.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Hardin County's unemployment rate was 3.8 percent in March, down from February's 4.2 percent.   In our region, the unemployment rate in Wyandot County is 3%, 2.9% in Hancock COunty, 3.9% in Allen County, 2.9% in Auglaize County, 3.4% in Logan County, 2.9% in Union County and 4% in Marion County.   […]

Arcadia Woman Arrested on a Warrant

An Arcadia woman was arrested on a warrant Monday morning at the Scioto Village Apartment compound.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, an officer on patrol observed 24 year old Allison Herriott, who was known to have an arrest warrant.   She was located inside an apartment and taken into custody.   Herriott was later transported to the Multi County Jail in Marion.

Four People Injured in Wyandot County Crash Easter Sunday

Four people escaped serious injury in a two vehicle crash that occurred this past Sunday afternoon in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 33 year old Mohammed Alo, of Toledo, lost control of his car while driving north on US 23. Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire in Wyandot County

A mobile home was destroyed by fire back over this past weekend in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, the Sycamore Fire Department was dispatched to 1950 County Highway 44, and the structure was fully engulfed in flames.   Firefighters conducted a search after they discovered that owner, Billy J. Simmons, may be inside, but no human remains were found.   Simmons was contacted later by phone and stated he was okay.   […]
