Gas Leak Forces Evacuations in Marysville

A section of road in Marysville was closed for several hours due to a gas leak on Thursday.   According to information from the Marysville Police Department, a contractor struck the gas line while working on Grove Street between 9th and Collins Avenue.   A couple of homes were evacuated, and people were asked to avoid the area.   A crew from Columbia Gas worked to repair the line, but the road was closed for the duration.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office Conducts Mock Escape Exercise

The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction participated in a mock escape on Thursday. Both agencies deployed their unmanned aerial systems (UAS), located the "escaped inmate" and guided a ground team to make the capture.   Video from the aerial system was sent to the communication truck for live viewing. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Scheduled at New Ridgemont Classroom

A ribbon cutting ceremony for a new classroom at Ridgemont has been set. The ceremony for Ridgemont's Hazel Daniel Moore Environmental Classroom and Land Lab will start at 2 on Wednesday April 17 at the Land Lab. The school is located at 560 West Taylor Street in Mt. Victory. School officials thanked the Hazel Daniel Moore family for their generous donation.

The Hardin County Board of Elections was unable to hold the meeting scheduled for today, due to illness. That resulted in the lack of a quorum. The next regular meeting will be May 9 at 9:00 a.m. in the Board office at the Hardin County Courthouse.

Minor Injuries Reported in 3 Vehicle Wyandot County Crash

A three vehicle crash occurred Wednesday afternoon in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 19 year old Tiffani Watkins, of Wharton, was driving north on State Right 53 and attempted to make a left hand turn.
